Sen. Josh McKoon’s (R-Columbus) religious freedom bill may be the one that’s received the most publicity, but there are now at least seven different religious freedom bills under consideration at the Capitol this session.

McKoon's Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) made it through the Senate last year and currently sits in the House. After that came a flurry of other RFRA-like bills from other Georgia lawmakers, including one this week from Rep. Ed Setzler (R-Acworth).

The bills' sponsors argue their legislation would keep people from being discriminated against for expressing their religious beliefs. Opponents say the bills would actually allow for discrimination, especially against members of the LGBT community.

So far, none of the bills have passed.
