No Merger For Emory Hospital And WellStar

WellStar Health System is calling off its merger with Emory University Hospital.
Neither hospital will say why the merger isn’t happening.
In a statement, WellStar board chair Gary Miller says the board has "determined a new strategic direction" and is calling off the next phase of merger talks.
Emory released its own statement, saying it regrets WellStar’s decision
The merger would’ve combined Emory’s hospitals in DeKalb County and Midtown Atlanta, with WellStar’s suburban hospitals and clinics.
