Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines has reached a tentative contract with its pilots. It now goes to an executive committee of the pilots union, who would then set a date for ratification by all of its members.

Terms of the contract were not released. If ratified, the deal would mark an early completion to negotiations that can become testy and drawn-out.

Airline labor groups are demanding better pay now that the carriers are earning record profits.

Pilots at American received a 23 percent wage hike in their new contract, according to Reuters.
