Chrysler is at the center of a trial underway in southwest Georgia. The automaker is accused of being responsible for the death of a four-year old boy, following an SUV accident in 2012.

Attorney Jim Butler told jurors in Decatur County court Tuesday that the design of the 1999 Jeep Cherokee led to the death of Remington Walden.

The SUV burst into flames, after it was rear-ended by another vehicle. Butler says the placement of the gas tank is to blame.

The Walden family is seeking an undisclosed amount.

The trial resumes today, with a deposition from Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne.

Chicago attorney Brian Bell represents the automaker and said that an autopsy shows Walden died from a traumatic head injury in the crash, not the fire.
