The science behind aeronautics and space travel is being pushed to its limits this week, thanks to two different projects – one here on Earth, and one happening some 300 million miles away.
The Solar Impulse 2, a solar-powered airplane, took off from Abu Dhabi this week in an attempt to become the first plane to fly around the world without using fossil fuels. Meanwhile, the Dawn spacecraft is now in orbit around Ceres, a dwarf planet in the Solar System’s asteroid belt. What do we hope to learn from these two projects, and what are their chances of success? GPB’s Bradley George talks with sci-tech correspondent Renay San Miguel.
