The uptick in shootings in Savannah has many in the community asking how to keep young people from getting involved in crime. Motivational speaker Wendell Rodgers says part of the answer is encouraging boys and young men to make better decisions. He led two workshops on decision-making as part of the Savannah Black Heritage Festival. Rodgers says he encourages boys to focus on goals they can achieve.

The City of Savannah and Savannah State University are putting on the annual Black Heritage Festival through this weekend. You can see video of an educational theater group performing as part of the festival here.
