Protests are taking place in cities across the country including Atlanta after Monday night’s announcement that Ferguson Missouri police officer Darren Wilson will not be indicted in the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

The question many activists are asking is what now?

Cameron Pennybacker of Diversity Assets, a social justice organization in Macon has been to Ferguson several times since the August shooting. He says the key to improving the conditions for many disenfranchised groups of people is education. "If we can improve our public school outcomes we solve much of the opportunity gap. So for my money schools and the public school system is worth investing in. The return on investment can just be phenomenal both in Ferguson, Macon and in communities around the country," he says.

Pennybacker is working with Ferguson community leaders to start a sister city initiative between Macon and Ferguson.
