It's been nearly five years since a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated Haiti and killed more than 200,000 people. Many Haitians are still living in tents, and the country is still working to rebuild its economy and infrastructure. Haiti is moving forward, says Gandy Thomas. He's the country's Consul-General in Atlanta, representing the interests of 80,000 Haitians who live in the region.

He spoke with GPB's Bradley George about his country's recovery from the earthquake. Thomas says work is under way to redevelop Haiti as a tourist destination and manufacturing hub.

The Haitan consulate is also presenting an exhibition of art and culture at the Rialto Center for the Arts in Atlanta on December 11.
