One-time Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney hit the campaign trail in Georgia Wednesday, but quashed rumors he might make another bid for the White House.

"I'm not running for anything, just trying to run to help people who are running for something and I'm making my effort known in the states that welcome me," Romney said.

The former Massachusetts Governor made appearances for both Republican U.S. Senate candidate David Perdue and current Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens. Romney and Olens stood side by side and placed their orders at the counter of Atlanta's iconic restaurant, The Varsity. The pair later shook hands with supporters in a private dining room.

"I feel like we need more Republicans in office," said Masha Hleap, who supported Romney in his 2012 Presidential campaign. "I think it's a great thing to kind of tie it together and show the unity of the party."

Governor Romney said he was happy to support Olens because of his record.

"He is someone who has focused his energy not just on defending the state and doing the necessary things that an attorney general has to do, but he's had a real agenda, which has included cracking down on sex trafficking and illegal drugs,” explained Romney.

The former Presidential candidate also stressed the importance of Georgia's Senate race. National Republicans hope to erase the majority Democrats currently hold in the Senate.

"Georgia may well decide whether we have Harry Reid running the country or whether instead we have a breath of fresh air with an agenda focused on creating jobs and shrinking the federal deficit," Romney emphasized. "And as you know, the Senate is very much in question and this is probably going to be the place that it all focuses."

Romney's next campaign stop was scheduled for Oklahoma.
