SCMPD Releases Charles Smith Arrest Footage (Video)

Surveillance footage released Tuesday shows police arresting Charles Smith on Thursday, Sept. 18 and seating him in a patrol car.

Police officer David Jannot fatally shot Smith shortly after the arrest, about a block away. The footage does not show the shooting.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.
