Leah Fleming & Y-O Latimore

Middle Georgia is rich with events and activities. Y-O Latimore, of Poetic Peace Arts recommends these activities:

Whimsy & Wine
Shelly English and Virginia”Ginny” Walker are a mother and daughter duo that will find a way to incorporate paint into any program. Not long ago, they started a movement called Whimsy & Wine. Although, that's the name of their company, they are not limited to providing their paint events with spirits for adults. Shelly and Ginny also throw paint parties for young people's occasions, too. They set up and supply all of the paint materials from aprons to the easels.Individuals are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early to register and reserve their seat.
The core of any of their parties is all about the stroke of a paintbrush. They even use their Whimsy & Wine concept for cause marketing events. So, if you’re a part of a civic or non-profit organization, feel free to schedule a paint party with them to help raise some funds. Most of all, these painting events are a good way to meet new folks, in addition to bonding with co-workers, family and friends.
In the month of September, they have booked paint parties at several Macon venues to include Buffalo’s Southwest Cafe, Logan’s Roadhouse, Sticky Fingers, Off The Vine and Macon Hooters. For more information, log onto their Facebook fan page at Whimsy & Wine.

Well, the Riverside Cemetery and Conservancy's coordinators and staff are always changing our perception, when it comes to what seems typical. It's $5 for students, $10 for general admission and free for children 10 and under.

Poetry Night on Thursdays at Edenz Vegetarian
The poetry scene in Macon is on the rise. As a poet, I've noticed our downfalls and climaxes over the last decade. Currently, Poetess Tylee Frett is hosting a poetry night from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Edenz Vegetarian restaurant at 3348 Vineville Avenue. Not only can you recite your poetry, the host has a lineup of interactive games and door prizes. Most of all, you can enjoy the unique and very healthy cuisine. It's one of the only spots of its kind in Macon. The cover for poetry for the Thursday night poetry open mic hosted by Poetess Tylee Frett from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Edenz Vegetarian restaurant is $5.
