Even if you didn’t watch the Super Bowl, there’s a good chance you’ve seen the TV ad by a now-famous Savannah personal injury lawyer, Jamie Casino.

It tells the story of Casino’s brother Michael, who was shot to death in 2012, and expresses Casino’s anger at how the case was handled by Savannah police.

The ad features heavy metal music and images of a sledghammer, religious icons, and lots of fire. It’s racked up millions of views online and gained media attention from around the world.

But was it a good ad? That’s what GPB Savannah’s Sarah McCammon asked Arlene Distel, an advertising professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
