Officials are gearing up to welcome the world's largest passenger jet to the world's busiest airport.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport officials say Korean Air's double-decker Airbus A380 is scheduled to arrive at the airport Friday morning and will be greeted by a water cannon salute and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Officials say the aircraft features an upstairs prestige class seating area, a duty-free showcase and three bars. According to the Airbus website, the A380 has a maximum capacity of 853, although typical seating arrangements will accommodate 525 people.

Airport officials say Korean Air will operate flights on the Airbus A380 between Atlanta and Asia on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays beginning in October.

Representatives from the Atlanta mayor's office, Customs and Border Patrol and Korean Air will be on hand for the ceremony.
