Great Books For Middle School Students

A great book for middle school students is The Mysterious Howling by Maryrose Wood. Fifteen-year-old Miss Penelope Lumley, a recent graduate of the Swanburne Academy for Poor Bright Females, is hired as governess to three young children who have been raised by wolves and must teach them to behave in a civilized manner quickly, in preparation for a Christmas ball. The Georgia Department of Education has an online tool to help parents get their children to read more. You can go to the Department of Ed website and click “Find A Book”. It offers suggestions based on your child’s reading comprehension and interests.
