Police are investigating a case of vandalism at an Islamic center in suburban Atlanta.

Authorities say the entry sign to the Islamic Center of North Fulton in Alpharetta was defaced with paint reading "London Justice," and "Where is Justice?"

Police are probing potential links between the vandalism and the slaying of a British soldier last week in London.

The vandalism prompted a response from the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The organization is calling for authorities to investigate the case as a hate crime.

CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper says the organization is asking leaders at Mosques and other community centers to follow safety and security guidelines the organization recently distributed in response to several acts of vandalism, bombings and threats of violence.

Alpharetta is about 25 miles north of downtown Atlanta.
