GPB has compiled Georgians' social media reaction to Monday's bombings at the Boston Marathon. People across the state expressed support for victims and the people of Massachusetts. Below you'll see a sampling of responses from politicians and concerned citizens.

Meanwhile, there are no known threats to Georgia after Monday’s bombings at the Boston Marathon, according to the Georgia Emergency Management Agency.

Spokeswoman Crystal Paulk-Buchanan tells GPB state authorities have been in touch with the Federal Department of Homeland Security and the Boston Fusion Center, who say it’s early in the investigation.

“They’re advising that it’s really early in the investigation," Paulk-Buchanan said. "But it appears that there are no additional threats. That being said we should be vigilant but not fearful and we advise anyone who sees something that they think is suspicious to report it to local authorities. Right now it’s inappropriate to discuss additional actions by law enforcement but we’re monitoring that situation closely.”

More than a hundred Georgians ran in the celebrated event that draws crowds from across the globe each year.
