The Savannah College of Art and Design is the only American university participating in a prestigious Italian exhibition.

School officials Tuesday said furniture design students will have their work on display until April 14 at the invitation-only SaloneSatellite exhibition in Milan.

In a release George Perez, professor in the SCAD furniture design department, says the event could be a professional stepping stone for his students. He calls the exhibition an unparalleled opportunity for students to be recognized on an international stage.

Eight pieces designed by SCAD students are on display ranging from lamps to benches and stools.
