Deer Hunting Begins Oct. 20

Wildlife officials said hunters can take to the woods for firearm season starting Saturday, Oct. 20. The season runs through Jan. 1 in the northern part of the state and through Jan. 15 in the southern half of Georgia. Archery and blackpowder season opens a week earlier, this Saturday, Oct. 13. Deer season is just around the corner in Georgia.

Wildlife officials said hunters can take to the woods for firearm season starting Saturday, Oct. 20. The season runs through Jan. 1 in the northern part of the state and through Jan. 15 in the southern half of Georgia. Archery and blackpowder season opens a week earlier, this Saturday, Oct. 13.

More than 1 million acres of public land is available to Georgia hunters. That includes more than 100 state-operated wildlife management areas.
