The University of Georgia and Georgia Tech rank among the top 50 gridiron spenders. It's according to data published by the Memphis Business Journal.

The rankings are based on 2010 expenditure data released by the Department of Education.

After spending $22 million, Georgia ranks 14th overall in expenditures and finished the 2010 season with a 6 win and 7 loss record.

With $15.5 million in spending, Georgia Tech ranked 50th overall and also closed the season with the same record.

Auburn University took both the spending crown and the 2010 national championship title after spending $39 million.
