Commissioner Emma Darnell said she's infuriated by reports that taxpayers paid for elaborate staff retreats, stays at pricey hotels and meals at some of Atlanta's finest restaurants.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reviewed expense reports and found that taxpayers covered a nearly $500 bill for kegs of beer and a $2,100 tab for food at Turner Field.
A city audit also raised concerns about spending by employees working on the project.
The BeltLine is a key part of Atlanta's long-term development plan. Its goal is to circle Atlanta with parks, residences and businesses.
