Residents of Atlanta's northeast suburbs packed a public meeting Tuesday night and urged county commissioners to make a decision one way or another on a proposal to add commercial flights to an airport in Lawrenceville.

Mike Royal was among residents who said they want a quick resolution. He said the issue is dividing the community.

Propeller Airports has submitted a proposal to privatize Briscoe airfield in Lawrenceville. The company has said it wants to build a 10-gate terminal at the airport and begin commercial flights to New York, Chicago and other cities using Boeing 737 jets.

Commissioners haven't scheduled a vote on the proposal.
