The newest beloved mascot of the University of Georgia could be pacing the sidelines of Sanford Stadium this fall.

"We hope to present the dog physically at the first home game," said Sonny Seiler, whose family has provided the famed English bulldogs known as Uga since the 1950s.

Seiler said the family has two puppies that are direct line, but is not sure which one or if either will be picked. There might also be a third option.

A decision is expected by August, when the dogs under consideration will turn 1, guaranteeing they are big enough.

Uga VIII died in February 2011, a month after being diagnosed with cancer at 17 months old. He served as mascot for only six games.
