Carter's Inc. is bringing more than 600 full-time jobs to north Georgia at a new distribution center expected to open in Braselton this summer.

Gov. Nathan Deal and Carter's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael D. Casey made the announcement Wednesday. The one-million-square-foot facility will support the company's e-commerce, retail and wholesale businesses. Carter's, headquartered in Atlanta, is the country's largest branded marketer of baby and young children's apparel.

The facility will create an immediate need for 250 full-time employees. The company expects to invest more than $50 million in the center and hire more than 600 employees by 2015.
