Monroe County is suing Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp in a bid to have a judge overturn Kemp's ruling in its border dispute with neighboring Bibb County.

The suit was filed Friday in Fulton Superior Court. Bibb County commissioners are expected to vote to fight the case at their meeting Tuesday.

Monroe County's petition for judicial review asks that Kemp's August decision be overturned due to "serious errors" in the ruling.

The two counties have been fighting over the boundaries for at least seven years.

At stake is potentially millions of dollars in tax revenue from land that's been increasing in value. The land in dispute includes part of a subdivision, part of a parking lot at a shopping center and other infrastructure.
