Eight Colleges Need Presidents
Primary Content
The University System of Georgia will need at least eight new college presidents by August.
There are presidential searches under way at Valdosta State and Georgia College & State universities, plus four colleges with searches expected to begin in coming months.
And two more presidents — at Augusta State and Gainesville State — will retire in June. The retirements are not unusual with a new chancellor at the helm of the university system.
Chancellor Henry "Hank" Huckaby began his new job July 1. He is also searching for a new chief academic officer for the university system.
