MACON, Ga.  —
Bibb County officials are asking local lawmakers to make their elections nonpartisan. A resolution signed by the Bibb County Sheriff, Probate Judge, District Attorney, Superior Court Clerk, Coroner and Civil Court Judge could become a bill during the next legislative session. Past efforts to make the offices nonpartisan have failed due to opposition from lawmaker’s no longer in office. If passed some 2012 county elections would not include a party affiliation.
