The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, in partnership with the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, has begun to use social media to issue public alerts.

GBI will use Facebook and Twitter to inform the public about missing children or seniors, and for fugitives at large.

While the GBI will continue to use traditional broadcast alerts, now Levi’s Call, Georgia’s form of Amber Alerts, and other advisories will be available through new media.
