UGA Expands Smoking Ban

ATHENS, Ga  —

University of Georgia officials Thursday tightened the smoking policy on campus.

The policy bans people from smoking within 35 feet from a door, a window or areas where a building can intake air, such as an air-conditioning unit.

According to a poll conducted by UGA’s Student Government Association, students and faculty favor policy by a 2-1 margin.
