Federal authorities seized more than $700,000 worth of rice and other items from what regulators described as a rodent-infested metro Atlanta warehouse.

U.S. Marshals raided the warehouse operated by Sun Hong Kai Holding Inc., which does business as United Food Service.

Christopher Huber is an Assistant U.S. Attorney.

"The FDA and inspectors observed 25 live rodents in the facility. They also observed dead rodents, live birds, live insects, dead insects throughout the facility. And that led them to conclude that it was unsanitary.”

The state has banned any food in the warehouse being sold.

No-one has been charged.

The owners now have 2 weeks to respond.
