SAVANNAH, GA  —
In November, the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport will expand flight services to Fort Lauderdale. The new carrier is Allegiant Air based in Las Vegas. The low-cost airline is the first new carrier for Savannah in nine years.

Patrick Graham with Savannah-Hilton Head International says Allegiant is not just an airline.

“This is more like a public charter. What they’re looking at doing is booking your hotel, booking your rental car, booking other things that you might do. ”

He says the new destination is expected to bring in more tourists as it connects two vacation cities.
