School officials say the mascot has been around for 60 years and is named after the Air Force’s 7th Fighter Squadron from Robins Air Force Base. But Crosby says the mascot has nothing to do with airplanes.
“When you enter into the school it says, ‘Welcome to Demon Country’ and when you enter into the school there’s a great big picture of a demon horribly faced with a smile.”
Crosby’s 14-year old son will be student at Warner Robins High School this year. His father says they’ve requested a transfer. Meanwhile school officials say there are no plans to change the mascot.
