In the Republican race for governor, Karen Handel is the candidate the latest political polls predicted to be the frontrunner in the race tonight.

Earlier this evening, Handel said she had one goal for the night… that the race continues with her in it.

"It has always been to earn a spot in the runoff whether it’s first or second… just want to earn a spot in the runoff."

Handel says the endorsement from former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin last week helped keep the momentum of campaign going, and she’s working on bringing the former Alaska governor here for an anticipated runoff.
