Plans to build a highway in north Georgia is pitting the state Department of Transportation against landowners and conservationists. The road would cut through a mountain in order to give people in Rome a straighter shot to Interstate 75 and Atlanta. Property owners have held it up with litigation for decades, and just when the DOT thought it had cleared a major legal hurdle, it was thrown more roadblocks. Melissa Stiers has this report.
