An internal investigation shows the ousted chairman and treasurer for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference have both mishandled at least $569,000 dollars. That comes from an SCLC spokesperson, who also says more money and people may be involved.

An inquiry should be done before the SCLC’s annual convention in late summer. At that time, the conference will install president-elect the Reverand Bernice King. Legal woes and bitter infighting among split factions of the SCLC have delayed King taking-over for months.
