A Milledgeville police Sargent has resigned following a high profile investigation of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Jerry Blash is the officer who interviewed Roethlisberger on the night the football player allegedly sexually assaulted a college student in a Milledgeville night club.
In documents released this week officer Blash also acknowledged he made derogatory comments about the alleged victim. Milledgeville Police Chief Woodrow Blue says changes could come to the department.
“We’re always re-evaluating you know the things we’re doing and our patrol methods you know to make a safer downtown, and not just downtown but all over the city.”
Earlier this week officials said there was not enough evidence to prosecute the case. Roethlisberger still faces possible disciplinary action by the Pittsburgh Steelers and the N-F-L.
