Former Georgia governor Roy Barnes has $2.8 million in his campaign bank account as he eyes a return to office. That information comes from the latest reporting of hopefuls for the 2010 race for the governor’s office.

Financial disclosures show the Democrat raised more than $900,000 in the first three months of this year, leading other candidates who’ve reported.

Among Republicans, Eric Johnson drew-in more than $700,000—a total of $1.7 million on hand.

Karen Handel reports nearly $400,000 raised in the first quarter, into a total of around $600,000 in her campaign bank account.
