GBI spokesman John Bankhead says preliminary indications are that it is was a murder suicide, but the investigation in ongoing.
Schaefer (R-Turnerville) was elected to the Georgia Senate in 2004 and served for 2 terms. She was the president of the Eagle Forum of Georgia, a Christian based pro family organization.
