The University of Georgia’s athletic director may be the only one getting a raise this year … and a hefty one at that.

Damon Evans was scheduled to make $460,000 next year, but under a new contract he’ll get $550,000.

That deal also includes a quarter-million-dollar bonus after five years.

While other staff and faculty are not getting raises, UGA president Michael Adams is defending this one.

He says the raise puts Evans' pay in line with other athletic directors in the Southeastern Conference.
