Ice Patches Keep Some Schools Closed
Primary Content
Continued concerns over patches of ice on some roadways in north Georgia will keep several county school systems closed again today.
There will be no class for students in Carroll, Cherokee, Dawson, Douglas and Fanin counties. Also, it's another day-off for students of Gilmer, Habersham, Hall, Lumpkin, Paulding, Pickens, Union and White county schools.
There are three systems with delayed openings today: Coweta, Gordon and Haralson counties. And delayed openings for students in Bremen and Carollton city schools.
State transportation officials say with the major interstates basically free of any icing problems, they've spent the weekend sanding and salting secondary roads. DOT workers are still on standby to handle problems again this morning.
