Election Set for Legislative Seats

Governor Sonny Perdue has set a special election for January 5 to fill the seats of state Senator Ed Tarver and state Representative Hardie Davis.

Tarver resigned as senator recently to take a job as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, which includes Augusta and Savannah. Davis is resigning from his seat to run for the one being vacated by Tarver.

Tarver represented State Senate District 22, which includes Augusta. Davis represented House District 122. Both men are Democrats.
