Companies who want to do business with the Robins Air Force Base will gather in Middle Georgia this week to learn more about securing billions in military contracts.
The 7th annual Requirements Symposium brings together senior leaders from the base and people from the business world. Last year more than 800 people attended the event including representatives from 300 different companies like Boeing and Lockheed Martin.
Military officials say information shared at the 2008 conference helped some of those companies secure more than 5-billion dollars in contracts with Robins. This year military officials say they will share their future needs and vision for the base with those in attendance. They'll also walk people through the process of securing military contracts.
Private contractors will each pay 250-dollars to attend the event which is co-hosted by the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce.
