Officials with East Central Technical College in Douglas say they should not have claimed 280 stimulus jobs were created by the purchase of new trucks and a modular classroom.

They say the number actually represents the number of students who will benefit from the $200,000 they received.

An Associated Press investigation of a government report found that across the country officials overstated the number of jobs created or saved by the recovery plan by the thousands.

The White House says the mistakes will be corrected in a final report due out today.
