Don Snell resigned Wednesday as the president and chief executive officer of MCG Health Incorporated in Augusta. Snell held the positions for 11 years and told reporters he felt like that was long enough. Under his leadership the organization became financially stable after struggling with a $25 million deficit in 2000. Snell also led the restructuring of Augusta’s MCG Health clinics into a flexible non-profit system allowing them to compete with major hospitals. Those clinics include the MCG Health Medical Center, MCG Health Children’s Medical Center and the Georgia Radiation Therapy Center.
