Study: Good Nutrition Keeps Georgians out of Nursing Homes Longer

A new study suggests good nutrition keeps older Georgians in their homes longer.

Elderly people involved in the state’s nutritional wellness program put off entering a nursing home by an average of three years.

That’s compared to people not in the nutrition program.

Those figures come from the Georgia Department of Human Service, which had to scale down its nutrition program this year due to state budget cuts.
