Fort Benning in Savannah is offering more services for its Jewish troops. This is in response to the beating of Private Michael Handman last Fall—he was a Jewish soldier in basic training. The incident occurred days after he complained of religious discrimination in letters to his family, who alerted the Army. Ft. Benning has added a rabbi chaplain, training on religious diversity for drill sergeants, and kosher meals in the dining hall.
