Georgia Board of Education Votes For Teacher Furloughs

School systems are a step closer to furloughing teachers to save money.

The state Board of Education voted this morning to allow educators to work fewer days than the state usually requires.

Gov. Sonny Perdue wants some 130,000 public school teachers to take three unpaid furlough days by the end of 2009.
