Two Georgia soldiers died this week from duty in Afghanistan.

A guardsman from Dalton was killed Tuesday in Methar Lam. The Georgia Army National Guard says 34-year-old Raymundo P. Morales died from injuries when the vehicle he was riding in rolled over. A guard spokesman says Morales was a member of the 148th Brigade Support Battalion based in Cedartown.

On Monday, U.S. Army Spc. Anthony M. Lightfoot of Riverdale was killed in Wardak Province, Afghanistan. The 20-year-old died of injuries suffered when an explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Lightfoot was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 25th Field Artillery in the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 10th Mountain Division, based at Fort Drum, N.Y.
