The state Senate has approved a bill that allows the University System of Georgia to take over management of the Georgia Archives. The bill unanimously passed the Senate Thursday. It now heads to Gov. Nathan Deal.
For the first time, police officer Clayton Sutton can be heard describing—in his own voice—his December encounter with Sammie Davis Jr. in front of the Pio Nono Avenue Kroger in Macon. The Bibb County District Attorney's office has released hours of video and audio from the investigation into the incident that left Davis dead and has stressed police-community relations.
Thursday morning Senator Jeff Mullis, Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, presented his substitute to the House ethics bill in front of that committee.
