Score Atlanta found a quiet spot to spend a few minutes with Grady star running back Marcus Caffey at the Atlanta Public Schools Signing Day celebration. Caffey is a six-foot, 190 pounder with 4.45 speed. He rushed for over 1,600 yards with 18 touchdowns last season. Here’s what the Kentucky signee had to say...

ScoreAtl: What impressed you most about Kentucky head coach Joker Phillips?

Caffey: The main thing is, I liked his attitude. He showed the state of Georgia love in recruiting.

ScoreAtl: What will be the toughest challenge playing in the SEC?

Caffey: Coming back and playing a great opponent every week.

ScoreAtl: What made Kentucky a better choice for you than Purdue (Caffey had given Purdue a verbal in the fall)?

Caffey: The home atmosphere. It’s (also) a good place to come in and play.

ScoreATL: What do you look forward to doing off the football field?

Caffey: Basketball games. I went to one while I was up there. It was real, real, nice.

ScoreAtl: What’s next, between now and arriving on campus?

Caffey: Training.

ScoreAtl: That’s what they all say. Will you relax for a week?

Caffey: Not really.
