This week’s match ups is between West Forsyth at Centennial, so let’s find out a little something about the schools.

West Forsyth High School is a new high school that opened in fall of 2007. Besides their exceptional academic success, the West Forsyth Wolverines are also known for their competitive athletic program, ranking top 10 in the early season of AAAAA competition in both softball and volleyball. Aside from sports and academics, the Wolverines are very much involved in protecting their community, as students and teachers make a continuous effort to promote and educate the unsafe risk of driving while texting. Hey! Did you know that… while most high schools simply have a home economics class, West Forsyth High has their very own Culinary Arts Team where students can compete at the HEFG Georgia State Culinary Championships at Le Cordon Bleu. This competition is set up to resemble the hit show “Iron Chef” and this year Wolverines placed 4th out of 18 competitive teams. Way to go West Forsyth High!

Centennial High School is located in Roswell Georgia. The Knights at Centennial High offers more than 150 sports teams and clubs for students to get involved in, such as football, cheerleading, marching band, color guard, Track and Field, poetry club, and a breakfast club. Centennial also offers their students the chance to learn multiple foreign languages such as French, German, and Spanish and for those students trying to get an early start in the field of journalism, they can join WCHS-TV Student Broadcasters or write for this school’s newspaper. Hey! Did you know that… thanks to Centennial’s staff and students, the media center is a multiple award-winning component of the school. Hey! Maybe will see them working here at GPB one day!
